This 1953 BSA Bantam Major is
a charming example of one of Britain's most iconic lightweight motorcycles.
Powered by a 150cc two-stroke engine, the Bantam became renowned for its
reliability, economical running costs and ease of maintenance, making it a
favourite with generations of riders.
Showing just three former
keepers in total, this example appears to have undergone a comprehensive
restoration before being registered in the UK in August 2025. Accompanying the
motorcycle is an extensive collection of photographs documenting the
restoration, which appears to have been completed to a high standard. Also
included in the sale is a second double saddle, offering an additional period
accessory.
Although we have not started
the motorcycle on site, the vendor advises that it has been running recently. A
smartly presented Bantam with the benefit of photographic restoration records,
ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.
