VENDOR FEES & MARKETING
Trade vendors selling multiple lots through our auctions benefit from competitive rates based on volume. You'll be assigned a dedicated account manager who will discuss tailored terms with you and ensure our relationship works for both sides.
Private vendors can expect a straightforward fee structure with no hidden costs:
- Vendor Commission: 7.5% of the hammer price (minimum £100 per lot), deducted from your sale proceeds
- Entry Fee (Catalogue and Illustration Charge): £30 per lot for runners; £70 for non-runners
All charges are subject to VAT.
When it comes to pre-sale marketing, we don't cut corners. Your vehicle will be professionally photographed and, where appropriate, we'll produce video footage showcasing the bodywork and driving condition. Every lot receives a detailed, accurate description written by people who genuinely know their subject.
We promote each sale through our website, which draws tens of thousands of visitors from across the UK and around the world. Our media presence spans national and international motoring titles, UK broadsheet and regional newspapers, specialist trade websites, and multiple social media platforms — ensuring your vehicle reaches the widest possible audience of serious buyers.
That reach is backed by over 30 years in the motoring market. Our database of buyers is one of the strongest in the industry: national, international, and constantly growing.
The results speak for themselves. In the past six months we have achieved a 90%+ sale rate for our clients — a figure we believe is unmatched in the industry.

SUBMIT AN ENTRY
Our Cars, Vans & 4x4s department welcomes most types of road-registered vehicles. Entering a lot is simple — you can either:
- Complete our online entry form.
- Bring your vehicle to our site and fill in the paperwork with us in person
The form is straightforward, and we're always happy to walk you through it. The more information you can provide, the stronger the picture we can build for potential buyers — and the better your result is likely to be.
Once we receive your entry, our team will carry out a thorough review of the vehicle's provenance, documentation, and title. These are often the details that matter most to buyers, and we take them seriously.
Important note: If you wish to retain a cherished registration number, please arrange for it to be transferred to retention before the vehicle comes to auction.
While lots without a reserve price typically perform best at auction, we are happy to accept entries with a reserve. The reserve is the minimum price you are prepared to accept. Where a reserve is set, we operate a provisional bid system — if bidding falls short, we will submit the highest bid received on your behalf and endeavour to negotiate a sale with the buyer.
VEHICLE DELIVERY
Our auction centre is located at:
Brightwells Auction Site, Stoney Street, Madley, Herefordshire, HR2 9NH
We own the site outright, which means we can accept vehicles at any point during normal working hours — 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday — except Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year. The compound is fully alarmed and insured, with 24-hour security monitoring.
If you'd prefer to have your vehicle transported to us, we can arrange it. We have long-standing relationships with trusted vehicle transport specialists, developed across more than three decades and multiple areas of our business. Whether you're a few miles away or selling from overseas, we can coordinate collection from almost anywhere in the UK or internationally.
Equally, you are very welcome to deliver the vehicle yourself. There is a train station within a ten-minute walk of the site, with good onward connections across the UK.
When bringing a vehicle to us, please ensure all accompanying paperwork and any additional parts or spares travel with it. This includes service histories, V5C log books, old MOT certificates, and any other relevant documentation. Complete paperwork makes a real difference to buyer confidence — and to your sale price.
AUCTION DAY
All our sales are conducted online, with buyers bidding through our own proprietary auction platform. Because we own and operate our software in-house, we are able to offer buyers a seamless experience without passing on third-party platform charges — something we believe contributes directly to stronger hammer prices for our vendors.
In the days leading up to the sale, we arrange viewing appointments for buyers who have expressed interest in specific lots. Where possible, we'll have introduced them to the vehicle, walked them through the paperwork, and explained the bidding process — so that by sale day, interest is informed and engaged.
We stay in close contact with vendors throughout sale day, keeping you updated on incoming bids and buyer interest. Where a reserve price is in place and bidding falls short, we will endeavour to contact you that day — or the following morning — to discuss the provisional bid and next steps.
POST-SALE PAYMENT & PROCESSES
Sale proceeds are paid to vendors five working days after the sale, with all funds held securely in a client account in the interim. We can pay by bank transfer or cheque, and you will receive a full written statement clearly showing the hammer price, our deductions, and your net proceeds.
For UK-registered vehicles, we notify the DVLA of the change of ownership on your behalf once title has passed to the buyer.
There are further elements to the auction process that are set out in our Conditions of Sale — available on our auction pages and within the sale catalogue. If you have any questions at any stage, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We're here to make the process as smooth as possible.
