First registered in March
1961, this BSA B40 is a classic British single-cylinder motorcycle finished in
attractive red with chrome detailing. Powered by the reliable 350cc
unit-construction four-stroke engine, the B40 was introduced as BSA's modern
lightweight single and earned a reputation for its simplicity, durability and
versatility, with civilian production running from 1961 until 1967 before the
model continued in military guise.
Showing just four former
keepers, this example has been in the current ownership since November 2025.
While accompanied by very little history, the machine appears to have benefited
from a recent restoration and presents well. Although we have not started the
motorcycle on site, the vendor advises that it has been running
recently.
An appealing opportunity to
acquire an early B40, suitable for classic motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a
usable British single or an attractive addition to a
collection.
