programme, being reported that the expenditure in excess of
£20,000.
Completed in 2022, the work included a full respray and
extensive restoration carried out, with invoices documenting the “no expense
spared” approach taken throughout.
Accompanying the car are two
substantial lever-arch history files containing invoices, historic MOT
certificates, and supporting documentation that together testify to years of
careful ownership and maintenance.
Powered by the
smooth and characterful 3.8 litre aluminium V8 engine, paired with
Mercedes-Benz’s renowned automatic transmission, the car displays 113,140 miles
and is described as being in good order throughout. The interior retains
many of its original period features, including the desirable Zebrano wood
veneer trim and factory Blaupunkt radio/cassette player, further enhancing the
authentic 1980s ambience. In addition to its soft-top configuration, the car is
also supplied with the optional factory hard-top roof, making it an ideal grand
tourer for all seasons.
First introduced in 1971,
the R107 SL represented a new era for Mercedes-Benz, blending advanced safety

1989, it became one of the company’s longest-running and most successful model

introduced with the lightweight aluminium V8 derived from the contemporary
