Showing just 6,640 miles; only 246 miles
covered since a comprehensive engine rebuild; ridden to the sale; honest
patina
First registered in the UK on 20th May 1950,
this charming BSA 350cc is an appealing example of Britain's post-war
motorcycling heritage. Showing just 6,640 miles, with only 246 miles covered
since a comprehensive engine rebuild, it is offered with just one former keeper
recorded and comes with both its current V5C and an accompanying old-style log
book.
The vendor
advises that extensive mechanical work was carried out during 2024 by the
respected Robin James Engineering of Leominster, whose invoice is included
within the history file. The work undertaken included a rebore with new piston,
connecting rod, small-end bush and crank pin, together with a rebuilt magneto,
replacement dynamo, new wiring loom and battery, replacement clutch, new rear
tyre and various new cables and ancillary components.
Importantly, the trip meter
currently records the mileage covered since completion of the rebuild, amounting
to just 246 miles, indicating that the machine has seen only light use since the
work was completed. The motorcycle was ridden to the sale by the vendor,
demonstrating its usability and providing confidence in its mechanical
condition.
What
sets this BSA apart is its wonderfully authentic appearance. Rather than being
over-restored, it retains a genuine, honest patina that reflects decades of
careful preservation and sympathetic use. The result is a machine that looks
exactly as a well-loved vintage motorcycle should, full of character and
originality while benefiting from significant recent expenditure in all the
right mechanical areas.
A highly attractive and usable classic British
motorcycle, supplied with its V5C, old-style log book, and invoice for the
recent engine rebuild, this BSA should appeal equally to collectors, enthusiasts
and those looking for a vintage machine that can be ridden and enjoyed
immediately.
