Repainted in outstanding
Metallic Blue in 2019; fitted with overdrive, wire wheels and chrome bumpers;
benefits from an unleaded cylinder head conversion, electronic ignition, new
fuel pump and radiator; accompanied by invoices documenting work carried out
over the years.
First registered in June 1973,
this attractive MGB Roadster is finished in striking Metallic Blue, having been
professionally repainted from its original red in May 2019. The smart exterior
is complemented by a black leatherette interior with contrasting red piping,
creating a classic and sporting appearance.
Powered by the
ever-popular 1,798cc B-Series engine, this example is equipped with the
desirable four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, making it equally suited to
relaxed touring and enjoyable weekend drives. It also benefits from chrome wire
wheels and chrome bumpers, while worthwhile upgrades include an unleaded
cylinder head conversion, electronic ignition, a new fuel pump and a new
radiator, enhancing reliability and ease of ownership. The car has had 15 former
keepers and has been in the current ownership since October
2021.
The history file contains a
selection of invoices detailing maintenance and expenditure over the years. The
odometer currently displays 27,692 miles, although this reading cannot be
warranted.
The MGB was driven over 30
miles to our site, where it started readily and performed exactly as expected
during photography and filming, driving, stopping and running well
throughout.
A smartly presented
chrome-bumper MGB with desirable overdrive transmission, wire wheels, attractive
colour combination and a number of sensible mechanical upgrades, this is an
appealing example of one of Britain's best-loved classic sports cars, ready to
be enjoyed by its next owner.
