The Ferguson TEF20
is one of the most iconic tractors ever built, renowned for its simplicity,
reliability and its role in transforming post-war farming. Highly regarded by
collectors and enthusiasts alike, these versatile machines remain as popular
today as when they first left the factory.
This example was manufactured
at Banner Lane, Coventry on Wednesday 23rd March 1955, one of just 255 tractors
produced that day. First registered to Morris & Sons of Pershore on 26th
March 1955, it was later used for saw bench work before being purchased by the
current vendor from a dealer in the spring of 2009.
Since then, the
tractor has benefitted from a cosmetic refresh and has been used around the farm
as required, often working with a Ferguson two-furrow plough dating from around
1950. The vendor advises it starts, runs, drives and stops as you would expect
and was demonstrated on site during photography and
filming.
A genuine working classic with
known history, this Ferguson TEF20 would make a welcome addition to any
collection, smallholding or vintage machinery rally.
