Few
motorcycles better capture the spirit of wartime and post-war British transport
than the New Hudson Autocycle. Simple, economical and wonderfully charming,
these lightweight machines provided affordable mobility for thousands of riders
and today remain highly sought after by collectors for their character, rarity
and ease of ownership.
Originally supplied by The Motorcycle Mart of
Walsall, this delightful New Hudson dates from 1941 and is powered by the
model's dependable 98cc engine. Presented in lovely condition throughout, it is
a wonderful survivor from an important period in British motoring history and
appears to have been cherished as part of a well-maintained
collection.
The current V5C confirms the motorcycle is correctly
registered as a Historic Vehicle and records just two former keepers, an
impressively small number of custodians for a machine now approaching 85 years
of age. The odometer currently displays 1,033 miles, although as with all
vehicles of this era, the mileage cannot be warranted.
A particularly
charming feature is the wicker basket, which suits the machine perfectly and
enhances its period appeal. Combined with the attractive presentation, it makes
for a motorcycle that is as pleasing to admire as it is to ride.

from a well-cared-for collection and offered for sale with no reserve, this
