All steel 32 coupe body; upgraded
1940-spec 24-stud flathead V8; built in
California in 1993; genuinely authentic early Ford hot-rod
First registered on 01/01/1932, this
striking Ford ’32 Roadster presents in fine order and carries all the
hallmarks of a properly built, genuinely authentic early Ford hot-rod. The vendor confirms that the
car is composed of completely original Ford parts, with an all-steel body as it left the factory in
1932 — a rare and highly desirable
attribute among enthusiasts of early Ford V8s.
Under the bonnet sits an upgraded
1940-spec 24-stud flathead V8, running a single
carburettor and offering the unmistakable soundtrack that made these engines
legendary. The 1939 gearbox, widely regarded as the one to have, was
hand-picked for the build. The car itself
was constructed in California in 1993, using genuine Ford components throughout,
giving it the stance, proportions and authenticity that set the best
’32 Coupes apart. The stance is
particularly well judged, with larger rear wheels giving it the classic
period-correct
attitude.
On
site, the car has been starting and running well, delivering a wonderfully
distinctive flathead burble that suits its purposeful presence perfectly.
Inside, the seat has been retrimmed to provide a little more cabin space, making
it more comfortable for modern drivers, while the original seat — complete with
its fantastic patina — is included.
The paperwork includes the current V5C, showing
only one former keeper since the car arrived in the UK in 2020, along with a
copy of the California Certificate of Title, confirming its American
origins.
All together, this is a fabulously cool machine: authentic,
beautifully built, and carrying all the charisma that makes the ’32 Coupe such
an icon of traditional hot-rodding.
Turn heads on every trip with this
very special machine!
