Station Peugeot main agents of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire in February 1993
this later model Peugeot 205 comes to us in five-door hatchback Junior Diesel,
'Style' specification and is finished in Blue, sitting upon its original steel
wheels.
Under the bonnet, we find the ever
dependable 1.8 litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated XUD7 diesel engine which
develops 59bhp offering decent performance, massive economy and surprising
refinement, so much so the diesels sold just as well as the small engined petrol
variants at the time.
Inside, we find a
denim-like interior finish, manual windows, a heated rear screen and a simple,
comfortable, no frills motoring experience with the original
radio.
The car comes to us from a deceased
estate and has been laid up in a barn for at least 17 years yet started
straight away with fresh fuel and a battery and has been presented for Mot
failing on a few minor items and then passed once the necessary works had been
completed.
The car shows 21,257 miles although
it looks like this might be a replacement or faulty odometer given the
service book shows some 16 stamps, the last in 2000 which was a full service and
timing belt although no mileage stated, the last mileage noted within was
104,768 miles in September 1997.
Within the
history file we find the V5C showing just four former keepers to the deceased
(who bought it in 2004), an older V5C, aforementioned service booklet, radio
user manual with code and old Sorn document, bill for rear wheel cylinders
needed for the Mot and the fresh advisory free MOT. There are no online Mot records, bar the
most recent since the car has been in storage for so long.
Looking
ready to be enjoyed with some gentle bedding in after
