Dating from April 1997 this gorgeous BMW
E31 series 840CI Sport is finished in Barbados Green and sits on its original
17” ‘Throwing Star’ three-piece alloy wheels and looks super
cool.
Under the bonnet of this example we find
the 4.4 litre M62B44 V8 petrol engine which develops 282bhp and 420NM of torque
driving the rear wheels via five-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission with
Sport mode.
Inside, we find grey a beige
leather interior with 2+2 seating, Sport model seats with electric adjustment
and driver memory, electric windows, electric tilt and slide sunroof, electric
mirrors, cruise control, OBC (on-board computer), three-spoke steering wheel,
original BMW Professional radio/cassette player, dual zone climate control with
AC, fire extinguisher and traction control.
The
car shows 91,283 miles and comes to us from a deceased estate having passed to
the deceased’s son in 2019 and presents well having been driven up to us from
Yelverton. We did note the ABS/Traction control light came on and off
intermittently whilst we moved it around/started and stopped the car but
remained off during the trip up and for its recent Mot.
The history file includes the V5C recording five former keepers,
some 19 old Mots, the current Mot valid until July 2023 which recorded five
minor advisories (enter the reg at check-mot.service.gov.uk), an advert for the
car from 2004 and a selection of bills for parts and
maintenance.
Recent maintenance spend includes
a replacement battery in July-23, a £761 spend on a service, two new tyres,
stabiliser link and starter motor in 2021, Ocean BMW main dealer repairs and
repaint of roof panel, rear quarters and boot lid with new sections fabricated
and fitted along with a service and alloy wheel refurb at a cost of some £4747
at 90,347 miles in July 2019, coil packs and AC re-gas also in late
2019.
A further £5491 was spent in August 2019
at 90,847 miles on new discs, pads, underbody wax-oil, engine bay clean, lower
rear suspension wish bone, auto box oil change, hand brake shoes, new rear
shocks, new front brake callipers, new front lower suspension wishbones, rear
diff oil and seal and inspection II service.
Considerable recent spend, suggesting the car has been well cared
for with lots of money lavished upon it and likely a good buy at the enticing
estimate.
