Description
In the current ownership since 2008; restored and repainted in 2022; a
most eye-catching Beetle in a great colour scheme
First
registered in November 1971 this attractive looking Beetle has been in the
current ownership since 2008. The MOT history shows that it was in light regular
use from 2008 to 2015, covering some 7,000 miles during this period. It was then
put into storage for the next seven years.
In
April 2022 it was taken out of storage and sent to Brian Wilkes Motors of
Bridgnorth for recommissioning and restoration. Invoices show that over £5,600
was spent on the car which included four new wings, various other localised
bodywork repairs and a full repaint in turquoise and white.
It was also overhauled mechanically as required, including a new
front axle beam, full brake system overhaul, new steering damper, new
headlights, new battery, new fuel sender unit, attention to the wiring and a
thorough service.
Since the restoration was
completed it has only covered some 1,500 miles. Although it no longer needs one,
it flew through its MOT shortly before the auction with no advisories recorded,
the MOT being valid until July 2024. Driven some 40 miles to the sale, it has
been starting promptly and running nicely as we have moved it around on
site.
As you can see in the photos, this
freshly rejuvenated Beetle is a proper little eye-catcher and will turn heads
wherever it goes.
